I'm amazed at how many people still use ftp to manage their websites. I guess it makes sense since that is the main purpose of it and most people that have web sites are not really that tech savvy but it's just odd. I'm so used to not using it I've forgotten the commands. Two of the three clients I worked with last week only have ftp access which is a big pain. I'm used to have shell access so either I can work directly on the files for real-time results or at least being able to scp things over. Also, I guess I'm really spoiled since I've been using subversion for a while now...I do remember the days of zipping up my directories and ftp'ing them over the web server. Oh how I don't miss those days.
